He had retired from active racing in 2016. From 2014 to 2016, he had competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race winning the former in 2015 and finishing as a runner-up in the later ( LMP1 class) in the same year. He had also stood 3rd at the 1995 Formula Ford Festival, the 1996 European Formula Ford Championship, the 1997 Masters of Formula 3 series, the 1998 FIA GT Championship, and the 2000 International Formula 3000 series.
